Car Flip Series

I've been going through my old photos at the Daily Reveille to find instances when I shot a long burst of photographs. I use the technique to capture a long series of photographs but realized they work better as a single contact sheet.

I've always wanted to make works similar to Eadweard Muybridge. I didn't realize until recently that I had been for the past four years. Thank you, digital cameras, for shooting 5fps.

Most of the series are performing artists because I don't normally point my camera and shoot the hell out of everyday life. Although I should start.

However, this series is from an incident in the Parker Coliseum parking lot. Some kid was making donuts late that night and flipped the SUV on its side. We got there in time for the tow truck to flip the car back so I shot a burst while the winch was pulling. The photo landed the paper the next day. The editor thought that the occasion was good for bragging rights about turn around time from shot to publication.
