Snow Palm

It snowed. I know it is not an uncommon occurrence except that it snowed in south Louisiana. Not Illinois, not New York, not even north Louisiana, but Baton Rouge, Lafayette, and New Orleans. Though it does snow once every winter, this is the first time it has packed this heavily since 1958.

While everyone else was celebrating with snow fights, snowmen, and snow angels (they learned their lesson about covering themselves in slush water), I was scared out of my mind. I didn't know how to drive, how to walk, or how to think in snow. Hell froze over.

For photographing the freak occurrence, I tried to combine the visual elements typical of Louisiana's warmer climate (broad-leaf trees, scooters, and terracotta roofs) but covered in 2-6 inches of snow. You yanks can keep it.
